Waiting
Julie Redstone
I am a boy of just 16 years old. and ever since I moved to my new city where i live. i became closer to god and he help renew me spiritually, mentally and most notably physically. since that time i have increased my talent for soccer tenfold becuase his grace has allowed me to do so. and I figured that he wanted me to play professional soccer in my country, spain. but right now i am looking for a soccer team whom might have try outs available to me so i may pass into the younger teams. I truely believe this is the path that the lord has set out for me to persue. but I am stuck wondering why if he wants me to do this, then do I not find tryouts for a team. I am doubting myself a bit or thinking that i may have misunderstood him and it is making me a bit sad. but never have i doubted him for a minute and much less have i stopped wanting to persue the path that he wants me to take. but i am very unsure becuase he has made me mature so much as a soccer player but it seems like he has allowed the doors of this pathway to shut closed for some reason unknown to me. people always tell me that there is a time and place for which to do things and that if we try to rush god's plans then we might fall into the same situation i am under which is doubting. but I don't know if he wants me to play soccer in america instead or another country, or just not professionally at all. I would like to know if you could help me to better explain things and help me know what it is that he wants me to do?

Dear One,
You have been given a gift of talent through Divine energy and grace, but this does not mean that it has to be used in a particular way or at a particular time. Often, such gifts come without a set of directions concerning how to use them, and the path ahead needs to unfold. What is important is that you wait in trust, and that you not try to force things. The same energy and grace that bestowed a gift upon you in the first place will open the path before you when the time is right. You can be sure of this. Now, there may be additional qualities of patience and trust that are needed that are equally important to the gift itself, so that you will learn to serve God and not your own impulses.
Continue to pray for guidance, dear one, concerning how this gift may best be used, and do not worry that if you wait longer, you will not be using this gift properly. It is for Divine will to open the way before you, and if you continue to pray about this, you will know which direction you are being led in. Also, you may find it helpful to read the article called God's Timing. You will see, here, that many face similar dilemmas of needing to wait for things that they wish would come sooner.
Blessings, dear one - Julie Redstone
