Lapses in Consciousness

Julie Redstone

Hi, I am now going through this transformation, finding great spiritual connection and LOVING it, feeling amazed by it! I am lucky to have a partner who is very spiritual and going through this with him allows us to grow together. However I do have moments of udder frustration when it becomes apparent to me, through our conversations, that I allowed a non spiritual moment to pass through my body, I lost faith for a moment, became distracted. Can you offer me words of advise to stay on track and to hold that Spiritual feeling as I go through my day in this "world"? -- Lynn

--------------------

Dearest Lynn,

Non-spiritual moments are common while a sacred perspective is becoming stabilized within one's consciousness. Such moments are influenced by ego-states that do not yet fully trust that God will provide, by energies that are transmitted from other people, and by alterations in one's sense of identity so that for a moment, one becomes one's old self rather than one's new self.

These regressions and shifts in perception must be treated with patience and compassion, since the matter of stabilizing the self in a new identity requires time and practice for most, benefiting greatly from a daily spiritual practice of alignment, prayer, and meditation. When such a practice is incorporated at the beginning and end of each day and, where possible, throughout the day, the consciousness learns to become attuned to thinking in the language of sacred reality, rather than the world's more conventional language.

The pressure of the world's view of reality is a considerable one, and often this creates an energetic shift, unbeknownst to the conscious self, that moves energy away from the higher energy centers toward the lower. Watching television can do this, engaging in conversations of a low vibration can do this, frequenting places and pastimes that limit and restrict the flow of God's light can do this.

Within your own heart and within your own house, it is important to construct an altar that you visit regularly throughout the day. The inner altar is with you at all times. The outer altar can be a tranquil place of alignment that you and your partner sit before, together and separately, to remind yourself and your body that it exists in oneness with God.

All of these things create a sense of spiritual anchoring. They may not entirely prevent the energetic shifts that take you out of yourself, but they will go a long way toward establishing a uniformity of consciousness within you that will enable you to be yourself, with your own values and energy, no matter what anyone else around you may be feeling.

Blessings, beloved one. The spiritual road is open ahead for you. Julie Redstone
