Making Decisions About Money
Julie Redstone
Dear Julie, I am in need of money quickly, and I can only work in the evenings and weekends. I can apply at a restaurant but I am so hesitant. My heart is not with this profession, and I really dread it. I am not sure if I am being ungrateful, or if I am listening to my heart. I guess my questions revolves around the choices we must make when it comes to survival and money. Do we accept a job even though our heart dreads it, and we must overwork and compromise time with family, or do we keep praying and waiting, knowing that another path will come into light? - Ashley-------------- Dearest Ashley, In any time of critical decision making, the path of inner guidance is always the place to turn, to see what the primary issues are in relation to a choice that needs to be made. Sometimes, it is clear that one is being led in a particular direction, but the heart is afraid to follow what seems to be true. At other times, such guidance is not clear, and the choice appears to be one that could go either way. Guidance can come from within in different ways. It can come as a message from the soul or higher self, or it can come as an intuitive sense that at a particular moment in time, one is needing to deal with a particular issue above others. For example, in relation to money, there is the need to remain grounded and to accept responsibility for the practical concerns of life. Some people experience this as a primary teaching during certain phases of their life and are placed in positions of responsibility that they may or may not initially be eager to accept. Or, again, in relation to money, at times the primary healing focus may be on the fear of not having enough, of one's life falling apart, or of some other dire consequence. In such cases, the tension between trust and fear is the primary issue and a choice needs to be made with regard to these. In the present moment, your heart must decide what has priority for you - what is God trying to show you, what are you trying to learn. The answer to this question can come to you through prayer or meditation, and it will define the way for you in this present dilemma if you allow it to. Blessings, dear one. Julie
